Energy Access Assessment

Methodology

The data were collected in collaboration with microfinance institutions and NGOs in different countries (Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Senegal, Nepal, Haiti, Nicaragua).

Electricity

Access to electricity is assessed using the ESMAP Multi-tier framework. The framework ranks each household in different tiers based on the attributes describing energy access: affordability, quality, capacity, reliability, legality, availability, safety.
